Our random thoughts and ramblings.

Merry Christmas

Another year has come and gone, we can not believe how fast the year flew by.  We spent Christmas eve together as a family, we went to church and then out to look at lights.  When we got home, Katie Lynn got to open 1 gift.  She got a pair of Pajamas from her mommy.  Then her Daddy read her the night before Christmas.  Reading to her was started last year in the hospital.

Katie Lynn was very excited! She left a plate of cookies and a glass of milk for Santa.  She feel asleep infront of the fireplace waiting for Santa to come.

All tired out….what a long night

After a good nights sleep, we woke up this morning to find some goodies left from Santa.  We had a very nice Christmas morning, opening gifts and then making pancakes for breakfast.

We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Holiday Traditions

Growing up, my family would make Christmas cookies every year.  This is something my Mom & Dad started on their very first Christmas together.  We start by making the dough, then it chills for a couple of hours.  Next we roll out the dough and make cut out cookies.  We bake them, let them cool and then frost them.  We had so much fun!! Katie Lynn helped this year.

End product, they sure are yummy.  We are excited to get these passed out to family and friends.

Stuck

Katie Lynn loves to crawl under things, between things, up onto things…..pretty much any where we will let her.

We crack up when she gets stuck. Enjoy

What was that noise?

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…..

oh wait, wrong night.

A couple of nights ago, we were very tired.  It was a Monday night and we were so tired that we went to bed at 8:30. We just knew we were going to get a great nights rest.  At about 10:30 I heard some wind and storm clouds.  I woke up and wanted to check the weather to see what was coming.  There was a huge storm cell in Plano, just south of us but moving North-North East.  No worries, then they said there is a tornado, okay, still now worries.  About 10 mintues later, this storm cell is in Allen, a little closer but still moving North-North East.  This cell was moving very fast.  We check the weather 1 more time, turn off the TV and go back to bed.  In the next couple of minutes we hear sirens, no, not ambulance sirens, I mean, loud sirens that make you jump 10 feet in the air.  We flip back on the TV, hear the warning from the sirens, “take cover, tornado”. SERIOUSLY?!?! We went to bed early for this?

I come out to the hall closet, pull out some junk that we have been meaning to get upstairs and out of the way.  We then find ourselves sitting in the closet waiting to see what is going on.  Tom is busy checking things out and about 5 minutes later, gives us the okay and back to bed we go.  We were really never in any danger but when you hear those sirens, scary.

It is nice to know they work.  We come from Lubbock and they do not have these warning sirens.  All is well and it was an adventure, and of course…..we took pictures. ;)

Tom is all smiles, like always, he is always happy go lucky and he took care of Wrigley.

He also felt the need to show some school spirit. GO TECH!
