Growing up, my family would make Christmas cookies every year. This is something my Mom & Dad started on their very first Christmas together. We start by making the dough, then it chills for a couple of hours. Next we roll out the dough and make cut out cookies. We bake them, let them cool and then frost them. We had so much fun!! Katie Lynn helped this year.

End product, they sure are yummy. We are excited to get these passed out to family and friends.

Actually, Monica’s great Aunt Joan in Denver Colorado made cut out Christmas cookies, and Dad wanted to carry on this tradition. We needed a recipe for the basic dough and got it from the Ladies Home Journal December 1976 magazine. We STILL have this magazine and the tradition continues! Hope we get to taste some of these grand cookies made by Katie Lynn, Monica and Tom this Christmas!!
