Daddy’s Little Girl

Last Sunday we (again) braved the no-tax ‘crowd’ and went over to our local Target to look for more clothes for Katie Lynn. She does this squeal sound when laughing; it’s so hard to describe in words so maybe I’ll post a video or audio clip at some point. Anyhoo, whenever she makes this sound I tend to attempt to replicate it and mimic her.. which in turns makes her laugh more thus creating more of her signature sound. I don’t know who enjoys is more.. her or me.

We’re walking down an aisle and I keep repeating to her: “Can you say Da Da? Da Da? Daddy?”

To our amazement, Katie Lynn says it. Da Da. As clear as can be. I gaze at Monica with a “did she really just say it?” look on my face.. Monica heard it too. So I continue repeating “Da Da” to her only to have her repeat it back to me.

My heart just melts when I look at my daughter, and it’s such an inexplicable feeling when I hear her say “Da Da”.

Somehow I’m at a loss for words.. except for “I love you, Daughter.”
